Author Event: Katharine McGee

Hello, everyone! I'm super excited to talk about the amazing event I went to last night with all of you. I'd previously met Katharine at a Teen Book Con, and I've reviewed her first novel, The Thousandth Floor  on the site, but I couldn't wait to see her again at Blue Willow Bookshop especially because she previously worked in publishing before selling her books, and I would very much like to do something similar one day. In The Thousandth Floor  I loved how strong her world building was, and enjoyed getting to read a bit of a sci-fi twist on a book very accessible to contemporary fans. Two hours of absolutely crazy flood traffic was absolutely worth it for this amazing and memorable experience. Aren't these the coolest cookies? As you can see in the picture above, we got to have the most adorable cookies I've ever seen right before the event really started. These are sugar cookies printed with the book cover that were so pretty it was almost sad to e

Hello, everyone! This is a really great week of reviews I have coming as well as an exciting week for events as I get to see Katherine McGee at Bluewillow Bookshop on Thursday! I preordered a signed copy on Amazon when the book was first announced, but they have since run out, so if you haven't preordered, I would recommend asking your local indie bookstore about it.  Gem and Dixie  by Sara Zarr (282 pages) Overview:  Gem has always been t

Hello, everyone! As we wrap up another crazy week, I have one more book review for you! I hope you're having a great holiday weekend wherever you're spending it. I'm staying home and working on some writing projects and finishing another book while getting ready to go to school next week. It'll be weird going back into school after only having been for a week before all the craziness happened, but I got tons of reading done over the break, so I don't anticipate going back on having much effect on keeping up the frequent posting for months to come. Since I posted last, I've slated even more for this month including an article on how I get all the books I read and another Spotlight New Release. So if you missed that original article, I've linked it down below. I suggest you check that out and continue to follow my new announcements on social media! Enjoy the long weekend; it's a great time to tackle a new book! The Unexpected Everything  by Morgan
